Level 9 - The Egg
From the first room in the Egg, head north. Here you will drop down into a labyrinth of similar rooms. Use the code that you got from the book in the library to progress in this labyrinth. The code that you get should be one of the following:
- Right, Up, Up, Right, Up, Up, Right, Up
- Left, Left, Up, Right, Right, Up, Left, Up
- Left, Up, Right, Up, Left, Up, Right, Up
- Right, Right, Right, Right, Up, Up, Up, Up
If you follow the sequence correctly, you should come across a room with a central pit. Drop down this pit and prepare for the final battle. This enemy changes form, so stay on your guard.
The Six Forms of the Final Nightmare:
- Giant Gel
(item needed: Magical Powder)
This blob will chase you around the room, but whenever he pauses sprinkle Magical Powder on him. Repeat this three times and he becomes… - Agahnim
(item needed: Sword)
This wizard is the same as from “The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past.” When he shoots his fireballs at you, hit them back at him with your sword. When he shoots the crosses at you, dodge them the best you can. Four hits and he turns into the… - Moldorm
(item needed: Sword)
Hit this worm right on his big, fat tail. Every time you hit him, his speed increases. Do not let him slow back down or you will have to start over. Seven hits and he morphs into… - Ganon
(items needed: Pegasus Boots, Sword)
Another enemy straight from “A Link to the Past”, Ganon will attack you with his staff and fire bats. Whenever you get an opening, charge him with your Pegasus Boots and sword. Six hits and he changes to… - Lanmola
(items needed: Pegasus Boots, Sword; or Hook Shot; or Magic Rod)
Line up with this worm even when he is just a dot between forms. As soon as he takes form, charge with the Pegasus Boots and sword. You only have to hit him once, but if you let him start chasing you, you can suffer major damage. For some variety, try using either the Hook Shot or the Magic Rod in this battle. Any of these methods work equally well. Hit him and he transforms into… - Dethl
(items needed: Roc’s Feather, Boomerang)
As this strange form moves around, jump his swinging arms with the Roc’s Feather to avoid damage. As soon as his eye opens, nail him in the eye with the boomerang. Hit him once right in the center of the eye and he is toast. For the tougher method of defeating him, use the bow and arrow. Jump his arms like before, but when his eye opens, begin shooting arrows as fast as you can. Keep repeating this and after about 15 arrows he will die.
